true religion frees. once christ frees you are never again enslaved. no need to remain broken. therefore when marx said religion is opiate of the masses, a crutch, understand nature of words. marx spoke of the instituional religion that does not liberate but maintains the brokenness. true religion rather, sprituality heals, liberates.
